When we started this blog, we had a number of great ideas and saw it as a great excuse to exercise our small collection of toys.  As some wise man once said, the best laid plans of mice and men are sometimes over set.  And in our case, we were grossly over set.

There were a number of things that prevent any couple from having sex.  And I think it is safe to say that while we have been having sex, it has not been as often or a blogable as it might otherwise have been.  And then there are all the days in-between.  Things like travel, illness, lack of desire and the normal stresses and strains of everyday life.

We have not abandoned this, but we have also not been as diligent as we might have wanted to be when we started out.  We are trying to get back on track as things seem to have levelled off again and returned to something resembling normal.

So give us a few days for the next update.  Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Enter the Dildo

It would be safe to say that most toy drawers start with either a vibrator or a dildo.  If I could hypothesize, I suspect that the first toy is probably related with how a woman first masturbates (insertion or external stimulation).  Of course I am just guessing here.

Our toy drawer has a number of dildos.  Hard, soft, silicone, wood, steel.  She has even shown a desire for glass and granite.  And as we showed earlier with the Bon Bon, Jean likes a nice, hard...object between her legs.  OK, so it does not always have to be solid.

Dildos come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and materials.  From the more realistic, veined, cock facsimile, to the teal shaped ... item we have here, there are as many to choose from as there are women to put them into.  Some dildos are thin, others thick, some curved, some straight.  The Njoy is steel.  The teal one here is silicone.  We have wood too.

Choosing a dildo is a very personal decision and finding a favourite will take some experimentation.  And sometimes, what works for one occasion, might not work for another.  Jean commented that the first dildo we used on the Bon Bon was too curved and she needed something straighter, but was afraid the wooden ones would be too long.  She took a shorter one that came with her strap on set (more on that in a later post) and tried again.  It seems to have been a successful ride from what I have been told.

When choosing a dildo, remember that you cannot use silicone lube with a silicone dildo and make sure to wash them between uses.  Otherwise, the one that fills you, touches you and makes you scream is what works for you.  And if what works for you is several different types, well, you can always get a bigger drawer.

Additions to the collection

I mentioned in the last post Viva La Bon Bon that Allan likes to shop when I'm away. The Bon Bon was purchased when I was on a work trip back at the end of October. When returning from a vacation with some of my family, I found a wrapped box full of lingerie and sexy coupons. He somehow doesn't understand that the person that leaves brings back gifts for the person who stayed, not the other way around. Please, don't think I'm complaining. Clearly I am one lucky woman to have a guy who is obviously excited about having sex with me, and being adventurous while doing it.

Now, on this last trip I took I was gone for a week, again on work, but this time out of the country. Between schedules and ridiculous international roaming rates on my cell phone we really only chatted a bit while I was gone. Enter the female! I came up with this idea while away on business and I come back to a website, an email address, and 3 blog posts! I am so very lucky to have such an energetic guy. This is the newest toy in our collection, and to date, it hadn't been used yet. The Bon-Bon is a great concept. Normally, when we play with dildos we reach a point when our hands are occupied else where, I get very turned on, and next thing you know, I've gone and squeezed the dildo out. The Bon-Bon did a great job of holding it in place, in perfect position to straddle and ride. The only modification I might make next time is to pick a straighter dildo - this one was a bit too curved for the angle it entered at but it certainly was enough to get the job done.

I guess this means that I now have to start trying out dildos...which reminds, me, I have a pair of wooden ones...I wonder how they would work...

At the bottom of it all is the Liberator Fascinator Throe.  Not, not in the bottom of the drawer.  In fact, it is probably the one toy that never makes it to the drawer.  It is the one of the most important things we own.  The throe, or blanket as we call it is microfiber on one side and satin on the other with a waterproof barrier in between.  There are a number of things you can use it for.  Shaving, high lube activities, but we need it for a fundamental reason.  She squirts when she comes.  Copiously.  Without the blanket, whatever surface we are on would be soaked through and stay that way for an extended period of time.  So the throe for us is a critical foundation element to our sex play.  It is also a nice warm blanket for snuggling naked on the couch...at least when it is fresh out of the dryer.

Welcome to the Toy Drawer

Have you ever had one of those moments, when you realize you have a drawer full of toys and you have not used even half of them?  Worse, you have only used one or two and you cannot remember the last time you used them?  We were in that position tonight as we were looking at yet more interesting things to add to our collection.  It was then that we realized that is exactly what it was. A collection.  And becoming more like museum pieces each day.  And these are not cheap toys.  There are NJoy Pure Wands, the Liberator Wedge and Tantus Acute in there, just to name a few.  And there they sit.  Idle.

So we decided we needed to take them out and use them.  Have fun with them.  Remind ourselves why we bought them instead of snow tires for the car, or that new CD.  So that is what we are going to do.  Take them for a spin, put them through their paces and generally get off with them.  And we are going to bring you along for the ride.  Why? Why not?  Most people buy cheap toys.  If you are going to put down $50 on a toy, you might want to find out if someone else really liked it.  Or if it just ended up in a drawer.
